Hollywood Orchard was founded in 2011 with the mission to improve quality of life by creating a “virtual” orchard. Through workshops on growing fruit locally and sharing food in open-air events in the Beachwood Canyon area, they have created more than just an orchard, they created community. The first year alone, they harvested 5000 lbs. of fruit, donated 4000 lbs., and processed/preserved 1000 lbs. as food items for fundraisers. Today, they have over 100 fruit trees in their virtual orchard. Dignity of Man is proud to have served as fiscal receiver during the early stages of this organization.
